People are people
People watching is what I like to do. But shooting pictures in the street elevates that experience. People go about their own ways. They see me yet they do not really see me. I feel like I am a ghost who is insignificant -- I have no value, no impact, no influence ... I am just an observer. I am fine with that. Because people are people.

Jojo and the Kamunsil
Jojo: Mom, when I grow up I want to help out in farming Kamunsil fruits.
Mom: Jojo, when you grow up you'll find out that there is more to farming Kamunsil. You have to deal with the IRS, ICE, Obamacare, EPA, NRDC, Affirmative Action, and then you'll have to deal with the corrupt police and the greedy local mayor.
Jojo: Mom, I think I'll work at Wall Street instead.

Paneng's Kitchen
Paneng likes to cook for us but all she can cook is rice. We have rice for breakfast, rice for lunch and rice for supper. We are in no short supply of rice in our diet.

Cige Red
Growing up, I would always hear a folk song that goes "planting rice is never fun..." However, there was no song complaining about harvesting rice. Maybe because it's fun. I never tried it myself but this worker was among the many happy people working in the field that day. I call him Cige Red - not his real name - because he was wearing a pair of red trousers. He's 63 years old but he's fit as a buck. His secret to long strong life? He says he doesn't watch television.
