Oscar Papa Celestin - Oh Didn't He Ramble (Golden Wedding Vinyl LP)
Didn't he ramble... he rambled
Rambled all around... in and out of town
Didn't he ramble...didn't he ramble
He rambled till the butcher cut him down
Or, as it turns out, Papa's farewell. Oscar 'Papa'Celestin was born January 1, 1884. He died December 15, 1954, ending a fifty year marriage to his golden horn. During those not always happy years, Papa played for hundreds of thousands of dancersand celebrants from the colorful old dance halls of his own New Orleans to the stately halls of the White House itself. The music you'll hear on this "Golden Wedding Special" is a perfect reflection of the ancient traditions of jazz, complete with hand-clapping and choral singing. All posts are rendered in old school using restored vinyl LPs. This channel does not use recordings from CDs. As much as possible, I attempted to remove most of the pops and crackles from the original vinyl album. Some remastering was applied to make the performance cut through within the confines of the loudness wars.
Hope you enjoy.
