Negotiating with a Giant

Druon Antigoon is a Flemish folkloric character. He was a mythical giant who lived in Antwerp, Belgium.  Guarding a bridge on the Scheldt River, he exacted a toll from those crossing the river. For those who refused, he severed one of their hands and threw it into the river.

Tourists:  Can we have a photo with you?

Giant:  That would cost each of you five shekels.

Tourists:  Let us see ... that would be about a dollar fifty in today's currency.  Good deal.

Giant:  Wait ... I can't live on dollar fifty.

Tourists:  A deal is a deal.
