The Day Three Mohawks Appeared at Our Doorstep
So we finally got our first produce for this year. The tomatoes I planted last year were all decimated from the severe snow storm throughout Texas. These ones pictured above are from a cherry tomato plant that one of our church musicians gave to me before they moved down to Houston. He tells me that his other plants are doing very well - perhaps because of the more temperate weather and humidity. Georgetown where we live has hotter and drier climate compared to Houston. Probably why I only got a few produce.
The cherry tomato is a type of small round tomato believed to be an intermediate genetic admixture between wild currant-type tomatoes and domesticated garden tomatoes. Cherry tomatoes range in size from a thumbtip up to the size of a golf ball. Although usually red, other colours such as yellow, green, and black also exist. The cherry tomato is regarded as a botanical variety of the cultivated berry, Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme.
Hope your day is going well.
